We rarely attend guitar festival with our guitars, moslty because most of the time the conditions to try our guitars are not the best. However the Brussels guitar festival organised by our friend Hugues Navez is one the best event decicated to our instruments which has a high musical quality standard and a friendly atmosphere. We will be there with 4 guitars which will be choosen from our showroom.

Here is the program – clic on the link.

The splendid Théâtre du Vaudeville, located right in the heart of Brussels in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, will host concerts, shows, master classes, a lecture, an exhibition, a musical show for children and schools and a film, as well as the public final rounds of the national competition and the international competition.

Classical, latino, modern, jazz, music from the Balkans as well as a Flamenco show… The many facets of the world’s most played instrument will be showcased thanks to a rich and varied programme : solo, duo, quartet and ensemble, guitar with mandolin and double bass, with string quartet and castanets, with orchestra and dancers…

Always seeking new experiences, the festival offers the public the chance to attend numerous world and Belgian premieres and listen to big names in guitar music from Italy, Cuba, Slovenia, Austria, Canada, Cuba, Spain, France, Monaco, Belgium and the USA … as well as young artists on the verge of a promising career, for whom the festival serves as a launch pad.

The 2019 selection, through a brand new exhibition, pays tribute to the Masters Ilse & Nicolas Alfonso, who opened the first guitar classes in the Belgian Music Academies as well as the guitar class at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in 1965, thereby becoming the founders of the Belgian Guitar School.

This edition will also commemorate the disappearance of several other eminent artistic personalities : the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo and the French guitarist Jean-Philippe Grüneissen, founder of the the Guitar Class at the Conservatoire de Lille (France), who was trained by Nicolas Alfonso at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Finally, the ever popular « Luthiers & Exhibitors Salon » will welcome the public at the « Maison Grand-Place », located a stone’s throw from the Théâtre du Vaudeville, on the Grand-Place itself, one of the treasures of Brussels.
